My Story
Growing up, I always wanted to be a part of healthcare, although i did not exactly know which role I wanted to take part in. It wasnt until a close family member of mine was hospitalized that I chose nursing. Seeing the compasionate care that my family was given during the hardest time of their life was inspiring, so much so that I decided to pursue a career in nursing myself. As I near graduation, I think of what the future holds for me as a future nurse. I would like to accept a job in a critical care setting and build my knowledge base and skill set. Ultimately, I would like to return to school to pursue higher education, although I have not decided which area I would like to focus on.
My Personal Nursing Philosophy
My nursing philosophy is to provide compassionate care. As mentioned above, I was inspired to join the field of nursing by nurses' caring for my family. Seeing the loving compassion that each nurse showed toward their patient made a difference to me, and I, in turn, want to make that difference in someone elses life. We, as nurses, are uniquely equipped with the ability to help individuals through the hardest times of their lives by providing compassionate care.
